Soldering Preparation
- Turn on the soldering iron, making sure that it is in its protective holder
- Make sure the sponge is wet, ready for cleaning the iron
- If hair or clothing is loose in your work space, tie or push it back
- Have a clean work space, with just your components ready to solder
- Take the iron out by the handle, with solder in the other hand, and prepare to hold both to the spot between the components that you want to connect
Before you walk away from the soldering iron…
- Put the iron in its holder
- Turn off the iron
Before using a multimeter…
- Check if the red wire is connected to the right plug for current or voltage, respectively
